Some songs that make up the story of Lomn and the Ghostflower arrived like whispers; others kicked the door in. There’s a thread that runs through them, something about distance and the way we reach across it. There’s solitude in it, and longing, but also a sense of something else: a connection just out of view yet shaping everything. This wasn’t about trying to make something beautiful, just something true.

The characters are caught in that space, close but not quite touching, each voice echoing off the last, sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension. The clues aren’t handed out. You find them in what slips through: half-remembered dreams, a phrase that feels familiar even if you’ve never heard it before. The songs shift. Some build slowly; others move like they’ve already started without you. But they all belong to the same story.

I didn’t try to explain it. I just followed where it led. If something in it feels like it’s yours, maybe it is.
